Software Engineer – Manager

Position Description

The Software Engineer Manager is in charge of software architecture and technical development on ConnectBooster, a leading cloud-based payment solution. You will work daily with cutting-edge technology to build world-class SaaS applications in the fintech industry. This position is a healthy mix of hands-on development, software architecture, and people management.

You will be tasked with collaborating on overall software architecture and development of the software products, including hands-on coding and software design of ConnectBooster, management of the developers, and definition and adoption of improved development processes.


What You Will Be Doing

  • Oversee software architecture vision and decision-making for BNG and ConnectBooster software products
  • Collaborate with development team members and cross-functional groups on key company initiatives
  • Champion development best practices including code reviews, technical designs, and unit testing
  • Understand and assist, as needed, in the full development stack
  • Lead in the evolution and adoption of the team DevOps processes
  • Assist in triage and assignment of software bugs to the team
  • Perform hands-on development within multiple software applications
  • Contribute in the conceptualization and design of new software products
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure all software releases are of appropriate quality and provide a premium user experience to our customers
  • Manage engineering team members, including recurring people reviews and feedback focused on rewarding high achieving team members and mentoring team members facing challenges
  • Coordinate constant feedback and communication with team members through scheduled one-on-one meetings, stand-up meetings, team meetings, etc.


What We Want From You

  • 8 plus years of experience in software development and software team management
  • Demonstrated experience building world-class, scalable, cloud-based software
  • Deep knowledge of modern, full-stack development such as C# frameworks and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Knowledge of DevOps processes and the Microsoft Azure stack a plus
  • Embedding with our development team and leading by example
  • Understanding of the importance of the customer experience
  • Ability to work with customers and coworkers in time-sensitive, mission critical applications
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, growth environment within a tightly knit team
  • Proactive and highly organized approach to work
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and grow small to large teams of highly skilled software developers and architects
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
